I stamped the main rose image in a pale pink ink – I used Rose Quartz – onto 80lb Solar White cardstock. I then used pencils to color in the rose! I’m not that skilled at pencil coloring – I love it though. My method is to start with the darkest colors and work in from the creases of the image (i.e. the areas that would be darkest).
I then add color lightly and move to the next lightest shade, slightly overlapping the first. I then move to a third lighter color towards the edges, leaving on a small gap as a white highlight. In the close up you can see it’s not perfectly blended but I could have used a white pencil to blend more. I like the sketchier pencil look. When completed for the petals and leaves, I then die cut out with the coordinating die.
For my background I used the Elegant Motifs embossing folder, dry embossing an A2 panel widthways. I lightly rubbed the Rose Quartz ink across the top and then fussy cut out the embossed area.
I ink blended the Rose Quartz up a panel of white cardstock about half way up. I then spritzed it with Frosty Pink and Antique Gold Metallic Shimmer Spray. I then adhered the dry embossed piece with pink craft foam. I then mounted the rose over the top.
The sentiment is heat embossed with Pure White embossing powder, onto a panel of pale pink cardstock to finish.
