Hi crafty peeps! It’s the 12th, and in Altenew world, the 12th means a new Craft Your Life Project Kit!! The new kit is called Never Stop Dreaming and includes a stamp set, coordinating die set, embossing folder and coloring stencil. I really love this kit particularly for the frame die and frame in the embossing folder and I definitely put both of those elements to good use in my card today! You were hopefully sent along to my blog by LauraJane. If not, you can start at the top of today’s blog hop over on the Altenew Card Blog!

So let’s get to my project today! I used darker cardstock first off (Navy) trimmed to A2 (4.25″ x 5.5″) and I die cut it first, with the the frame die included in the coordinating die set, placing the die in the centre of the panel, as a landscape card.

I then ran the panel through my die cutting machine again with the embossing folder, lining up the central frame area with the die cut piece. It’s important to make sure that you die cut THEN dry emboss. If you try it the other way round, you’ll smush your dry embossing when you run it through the die cutting machine that second time. You end up with a beautiful dry embossed frame.

To highlight those florals, I lightly ran a white pigment ink pad over the top of the embossing, which grabs onto the ink in those raised areas. When it drys, it fades almost to a pale blue!

For my shaker background, I grabbed a panel of white cardstock and trimmed it to about 4 x 5.25 – smaller than my embossed panel but still the same proportions. I then heat embossed the ‘You Are Incredible’ sentiment from the stamp set in Antique Gold, placing it in the centre of the panel to ensure when I pulled together my shaker it would show through the centre of my window.

When my embossed panel was dry, I flipped it over, added acetate behind the opening and then created a double layer of foam tape around that window. I grabbed my shaker sequins (an older mix from my stash) and poured them onto the embossed sentiment making sure they all were in the middle, then placed the embossed panel over the top, sealing them into the shaker window area, and making sure the sentiment was centered. I then adhered the entire panel to a white notecard.
