Job Summary: (10 Months Contract)

As a member of the ICOWASH (2.0) project team, you will monitor and report on all project activities in support of Catholic Relief Services’ (CRS) work serving the poor and vulnerable. Your thorough and service-oriented approach will ensure that the project consistently applies best practices and constantly works towards improving the impact of its benefits to those we serve.

Roles and Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the coordination and implementation of all WASH activities in schools and Health Care Facilities as outlined in the detailed implementation plan in line with CRS program quality principles and standards, donor requirements, and good practices.
  • Monitor implementation of WASH in schools and Health Care Facilities and report any challenges and/ or gaps identified to inform adjustments to plans and implementation schedules. Assist partners in their efforts to reflect on project experiences.
  • Support project accountability through participation in joint monitoring, community reflection meetings, partner reflection meetings and effectiveness surveys. Collaborate with local partners to prepare reports per established reporting schedule.
  • Collect information on staff capacity and technical assistance needs of partner organizations and coordinate capacity building and technical Support activities to ensure effective impact.
  • Complete project documentation activity reports, success stories, short videos, and provide relevant data for scheduled project updates and annual reports.
  • Hold quarterly technical review meeting with implementing partners to review performance and strategize for the ensuing quarter.

Travel – include percentage of required travel, if applicable. Could be stated as Must be willing and able to travel up to 80 %.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Observation, active listening, and analysis skills with ability to make sound judgment.
  • Good relationship management skills and the ability to work closely with local partners and community members.
  • Attention to details, accuracy, and timeliness in executing assigned responsibilities.
  • Proactive, results oriented and service-oriented
  • Experience using MS windows and MS Office packages (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in (social and behavioral sciences, physical science, and any other relevant discipline).
  • Minimum of 3 years of work experience in project support, participatory WASH in Schools and Health Care Facilities.
  • Experience in the use of participatory Health and Hygiene Education and Community Led-Total Sanitation is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge and experience of working with local government system is an added advantage.
  • Experience using MS Windows and MS Office packages (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Supervisory Responsibilities (none)

 Key Working Relationships:

Internal: WASH PMs, TA, SPOs, POs etc

External: MMDAs, GES, GHS etc

QUALIFICATIONS

Basic Qualifications

  • High School diploma required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of work experience in project support. Experience in the field of WASH in schools and healthcare facilities implementation for an NGO would be a plus.
  • Additional education may substitute for some experience.
