We seek an enthusiastic senior business development manager to expand our wide-ranging services in Virginia with clients representing city, county, state, and federal agencies. Tetra Tech is currently engaged in high-profile programs and projects and looking to expand our reach with projects related to TMDL reduction assistance, shoreline and coastal resiliency, inland flood relief, dam removal, and water supply protection.

We are looking for an experienced senior-level manager that can lead business development efforts for various water resource consulting services. Our Fairfax office is a highly collaborative environment focusing on water resources solutions for local, state, and federal agencies. We are a full-service team that provides project life-cycle solutions through modeling, watershed assessments and planning, best management practice (BMP) recommendations, design (infrastructure, BMPs, stormwater control measures, dams, smart site design), construction oversight, water quality sampling, and trend monitoring. Our team incorporates a “research, develop, and execute” approach that results in real-world solutions that are efficient and sustainable.

More About This Role: 

  • Lead business development efforts exploring existing external and internal clients and developing new clients
  • Assist in the growth of Virginia water resources market including total maximum daily load (TMDL) reduction assistance, shoreline and coastal resiliency, inland flood relief, etc.
  • Identify key targets for specific projects or on-call contracts
  • Strategically plan and position for on-call contracts
  • Coordinate with internal resources to understand business trends, industry updates, strategic planning, and lead generation
  • Responsible for customer service for existing clients/accounts and capitalize on cross-selling opportunities
  • Lead successful RFP/RFQ responses
  • Responsible for external prospecting, calls, presentations, and other meetings to yield new clients

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Business Administration, or related field required
  • 15+ years of related business development experience required
  • Client-facing experience in the Virginia water market preferred
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Demonstrated interest in emerging topics in water resources
