CONTRACT NAME: Consultancy Services for Climate Risk and Vulnerability Assessment and Development of a Concept Note for Climate Resilience Interventions

Introduction

The Government of the Republic of Ghana has received financing from the African Development Bank towards the cost of the Sustainable Faecal Sludge Management (SFSM) in Urban Centers in Ghana, and it intends to apply part of the agreed amount for this grant to payments under the contract for the Consultancy Services for Climate Risk and Vulnerability Assessment and Development of a Concept Note for Climate Resilience Interventions. The overall objective of the assignment is to conduct a risk and vulnerability assessment for the faecal sludge management facilities to be constructed in the selected twelve (12) cities in Ghana that will inform the interventions required to mainstream climate resilience into the systems being developed. The consultancy services shall be awarded in two contracts covering two (2) lots as follows:

Description

Consultancy Services for Climate Risk and Vulnerability Assessment and Development of a Concept Note for Climate Resilience Interventions (for Sunyani, Techiman, Wa, Yendi and Bolga)

The above assignments are distinct contracts. Consultants may express interest in one (1) or more, depending on their qualification and competencies.

Services Required Under the Assignments (for Lots 1 &2)

Identify, collect and compile relevant documents, data and information (historical and updated), stakeholder mapping, describe the hazards, vulnerabilities and resulting risks to be assessed. These include:

• Stock taking of past and ongoing risk and vulnerability assessments and identifying gaps
• A description of clear climate-related risks to be addressed in the climate risk and vulnerability assessment
• Summary of existing baseline data and information and scope of the expansion of the baseline
• Provide details of the assessment methodology to be used in the climate risk and vulnerability assessment
• Provide an indicative timeframe, costs and resources to carry out the assessment

Eligibility criteria, establishment of the short-list and the selection procedure shall be in accordance with the African Development Bank’s “procurement Policy framework dated October 2015, which is available on the Bank’s website at http://www.afdb.org

Assessment Criteria

The Ministry of Sanitation and Water Resources now invites eligible consultants to indicate their interest in providing these services. Interested consultants must provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform the services (brochures, description of similar assignments, experience in similar conditions, availability of appropriate skills, etc.).

Interested consultants may obtain further information at the address below during office hours from 9.00am to 4.00pm Monday through Friday (excluding public holidays).

Expressions of Interest in English (One Original, Three (3) copies and 1 Soft Copy) must be delivered to the the address below in written form clearly marked “SUSTAINABLE FAECAL SLUDGE MANAGEMENT (SFSM) IN URBAN CENTRES IN GHANA” and the Lot Number and description of the assignment by 4.00 pm (GMT) on May 29, 2023.
