The Association of Clean Water Administrators (ACWA) seeks to fill an Environmental Program Manager position.

Founded in 1961, ACWA is the nonpartisan organization of State and Interstate officials who implement surface water protection and Clean Water Act programs throughout the United States. ACWA Members are those individuals with direct day-to-day responsibility for protecting and maintaining the quality of our nation’s waters. As the national voice of State and Interstate water programs, ACWA strives to protect and restore watersheds to achieve “clean water everywhere for everyone.”

This position reports to and supports the Executive Director in the development and implementation of the Association’s mission and policies. The ideal candidate has working knowledge of Clean Water Act programs such as NPDES permitting and Water Quality Standards; is versed in water quality topics like nutrient pollution; understands government affairs and water quality stakeholders; and has experience with project management.

This position is accountable for accomplishing program objectives and will manage multiple projects along with other ACWA priorities. The individual will both implement projects and develop project budgets, monitor financial reports, and propose budget revisions. In addition, this position plans and leads ACWA workshops and contributes to ACWA’s membership services and programs, weekly newsletter, website, and other communications. This position is responsible for several federal grant-supported tasks and priorities. This individual will serve as a liaison to ACWA’s Members, task forces, and committees, which may require meeting scheduling, distributing announcements and technical developments, and facilitating webcasts or committee meetings. The position is expected to attend and support ACWA’s Mid-Year and Annual meetings, represent the Association at stakeholder meetings and events as needed or requested, collaborate with all ACWA employees, and support ACWA’s core values and professionalism.
