Posting Summary | The Land Use and Water Quality Educator will develop, deliver and evaluate educational programs focused on stormwater and sustainable watershed practices. This includes working with members of the public and businesses to assess properties and to provide education about sustainable stormwater management practices. The position will also develop and deliver watershed science trainings for real estate professionals in Vermont and the Lake Champlain basin of New York. |
Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience) | Bachelor’s degree in environmental sciences, engineering, natural resources, water resources or related field and knowledge and experience in watershed science required. Experience working with agencies, businesses, communities, and associations required. Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills required. Knowledge and familiarity in using various web-based tools and programs, and Microsoft Office program suite. Requires attention to detail and accuracy in record keeping. Demonstrated ability to work with diverse constituencies required. Ability to provide own transportation to and from various work sites and locations. |
Desirable Qualifications | Desirable skills and experience:• Experience using the ANR Natural Resources Atlas• Experience developing partnerships and facilitating meetings• Working knowledge of mapping software (e.g., ESRI)• Experience with marketing• Experience coordinating and teaching courses to adult audiences |
