Salary: $1,819 – $2,223 semi-monthly *Salary may be based of education and/or experience
Job Location: This position is with the Missouri Department of Natural Resources, Division of Environmental Quality, Water Protection Program, and will be located at 1101 Riverside Drive, Jefferson City, Mo 65101.

Help restore and protect Missouri’s streams and lakes by developing pollution reduction plans called total maximum daily loads (TMDLs). You’ll work with a team of scientists and engineers to gather data and information to design strategies to reduce pollution. This work can have a tangible impact on improving the health of aquatic ecosystems, protecting public health, and ensuring compliance with environmental regulations.
What you’ll do:
- Use water quality models to set pollution reduction goals and targets
- Perform simple statistical analyses and prepare technical documents to ensure regulatory compliance
- Meet with or provide presentations to stakeholders and the public about restoration approaches
All you need for success:
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental science or technology, biology, ecology, natural resource management, or a closely related field, and 0 – 1 year of relevant experience.
(Additional education or experience may substitute for the required education or experience)
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to learn and use new software and tools, such as GIS and modeling software
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and learning
