beginning on March 01, 2023, the opportunity is for a part-time position (80%, 32 hours per week), through February 28, 2026.

The UNESCO Chair on Global Understanding for Sustainability is dedicated to addressing cultural, social and regional dimensions of global sustainability in research, education and policy. As part of a network of over 850 UNESCO Chairs in 117 countries worldwide, it serves first and foremost as a “laboratory of ideas” for the development of innovative program proposals.

Your responsibilities:

Your profile:

  • Completed academic university studies in a relevant field of study with a social science or humanities focus
  • In-depth knowledge in the field of sustainability and the (SDG’s)
  • Administrative experience that involves collaboration and partnership with other professionals within and outside academia including faculty and students across disciplinary boundaries
  • Excellent written and spoken English skills as well as fluency using MS Office are essential. Good Spanish and French skills are desirable
  • Experience with (digital) international communication and cooperation tools including online meetings, conferences, webinars etc. is essential.

We offer:

  • Remuneration based on the provisions of the Collective Agreement for the Public Sector of the Federal States (TV-L) to salary scale 13 — depending on the candidate’s personal qualifications —, including a special annual payment in accordance with the collective agreement.
  • Participation in diverse transdisciplinary global projects on sustainability
  • Close cooperation with international science organizations, national and international UNESCO networks as well as renowned academies, universities, research and educational institutions in the field of sustainability
  • Flexible working hours (after consultation/flextime).
