Winrock is seeking candidates for a Senior Capacity Building Officer to foster collaborate relationships with county institutions and community stakeholders involved in water supply for the USAID Improved Access to Safe Drinking Water in Liberia Activity Link. The USAID/Liberia-funded Activity will strengthen water sector governance, create scalable models for equitable water service delivery, and mobilize collaborative action to improve access to clean water services. The purpose of the project is to move Liberians in Montserrado and Margibi counties to a basic level of water services.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Major Responsibilities

  • Identify and develop relationships with key local institutions and community stakeholders in the water supply services/systems within the target county
  • Coordinate activities and collaboration with local government institutions, in particular county WASH teams in which this position will be embedded
  • Provide day-to-day capacity building, mentoring, and coaching to target stakeholders
  • Manage and implement all field-level meetings, workshops, and trainings
  • Manage Field Officer assigned to respective county
  • Contribute to learning activities in support of the MEL and Technical teams
  • Contribute to communications materials and project deliverables

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:       B.S. or equivalent university degree in a water-related field, or governance, capacity development, community development, resource management, or related field.

Experience:      The ideal candidate will have the following experience:

  • At least 4 years of experience in implementing WASH-related activities in Liberia
  • Familiarity with key stakeholders in water service delivery in Liberia required
  • Experience conducting capacity building activities with local partners strongly preferred

Language:  Excellent communication skills, both oral and written with fluency in English required 

Salary: The annual salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
