The Role

Reporting to the Manager Service Programs Healthy Waterways you will be responsible for collaboratively implementing the Healthy Waterways Strategy with key external partners. This includes using your well-honed communications skills to organise multi-partner meetings and events, writing and coordinating papers, developing recommendations and acting on the direction provided by the Region Wide Leadership Group (RLG). This role strongly supports the RLG and other governance groups in improving the health of rivers, wetlands and estuaries across the Port Philip and Western Port Region.

This will be achieved through:

  • Organising and facilitating annual Healthy Waterways Strategy Catchment Forums
  • Writing and producing documents with partners on themes in the Strategy, writing newsletters to inform interested members of the community and monitoring the related communications
  • Facilitating the collation of partner planned activities to support co-delivery of the Healthy Waterways Strategy

Your Skills and Experience

  • Experience working in and understanding of the environmental, Natural Resource Management or Water sector
  • Proven experience with the management and coordination of collaborative workshops and forums
  • Proven ability to present data to ensure it is appropriate for a diverse audience group
  • Experience working in a corporate environment, and the ability to embrace complexity and ambiguity and translate them into concrete working programs and deliverables
  • High level written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
  • Ability to report and present accurate and timely environmental information to external stakeholders and the leadership team.
  • Technical understanding and ability to ability to strategically identify critical ‘leverage points’ and highlight opportunities to influence the whole system, not just one component
