Our Manly Hydraulics Laboratory business unit within Water Infrastructure NSW is currently seeking to appoint two Project Officers to assist with a range of hydrometric monitoring projects in the Hydrometric and Water Information teams. In these roles, you will work with senior staff members to deliver projects, as well as assist clients with enquiries and contribute to promoting the services of the laboratory.

These are exciting opportunities to join a multidisciplinary team of experienced scientists, engineers, and hydrographers to deliver high quality, cost effective and innovative solutions to our clients. 

About You

As part of multidisciplinary project teams, you will have excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills, with strong communication and technical writing skills. Experience in project management, field work, environmental monitoring and water information content management systems are advantages for these positions. You will be able to demonstrate competency in working safely in and around water.  

In addition, opportunities maybe provided to contribute to oceanic, coastal, estuarine, riverine, water, wastewater, water quality, stormwater and flood systems engineering projects and/or participate in laboratory based flow measurement and water infrastructure studies (such as dams, spillways and breakwaters) to achieve project objectives and deliver high quality and innovative client outcomes.

 Essential Requirements

  • Appropriate Tertiary Qualification in a Science or Engineering at Degree level.
  • A valid NSW Driver’s Licence and willingness to travel, including overnight stays.
  • Ability to swim.
  • Knowledge and demonstrated experience in at least two of the following areas: water data editing, analysis and interpretation; data management and reporting; the operation of hydrographic instruments; in-field environmental measurement; and project management.
