Are you good with data and passionate about Victoria’s water markets? Are you looking for a role where you can develop your data analysis, project management, and policy skills while learning about Victoria’s water resources and markets?

The Trading Policy Officer provides a unique opportunity to combine those skills and interests to support effective water markets in Victoria that share our precious resources equitably and efficiently.

The Trading Policy Officer is responsible for the continued operation of Victoria’s water trading processes, maintaining trading rules in the Victorian Water Register and working with various stakeholders, including water brokers, to resolve issues related to water trade. The role collaborates with water market experts from agencies across the Murray-Darling Basin to support coordinated practices for trading water within and between states.

Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications

  • A tertiary qualification in engineering, science, natural resource management, economics, or equivalent.
  • An understanding of Victoria’s water entitlement and market framework and knowledge of the Victorian Water Register.

This is a fixed term position available for a period of 18 months.
