The Eastern Nile Technical Regional Office ENTRO has received financing from the World Bank toward the cost of the Nile Cooperation for Climate Resilience Projects (NCCR) and intends to apply part of the proceeds for individual consulting services.
The consulting services (“the Services”) is to conduct assignments related to datasets, tools, data analyses, geodatabase, and accessibility services or processes to facilitate and inform regional cooperation on water resources management and development issues. These include tools and processes related to hydro-met services, water quality data collection and investment planning, climate resilient planning, flood and drought monitoring, and processes for investment identification, water allocation tradeoff, irrigation modernization, dam safety, information services, and policy guidance among others. The individual consultant has to maintain and update ENTRO Central Database, provide Spatial Analysis and Mapping Services, support EN Multi-Sectoral Investment Opportunity Analysis, support the publication of metadata of both spatial and non-spatial datasets and documentation of knowledge bases on internal and external web portals so that user can easily identify available documents related to water resources planning and development in the Eastern Nile and Work closely with ENTRO communication specialist and IT unit to update web portal contents and in creating geospatially enabled e-packaging for interactive documents, as well as geospatial aspects of the Integrated Knowledge Portal (IKP) leveraging the NB-DAS
The position will be at ENTRO headquarters in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The duration of services is initially for 12 months to be renewed for additional 12 months based on satisfactory performance.
The Eastern Nile Technical Regional Office (ENTRO) now invites eligible Individual Consults (“Consultants”) to indicate their interest in providing the Services. Interested Individual Consultants should provide information demonstrating that they have the required qualifications and relevant experience to perform the Services. The short-listing criteria are information indicating their professional capability and experience to perform the services ;( qualification, description of similar assignments, relevant work experience in similar conditions, availability of appropriate skills and Language proficiency). The attention of interested Consultants is drawn to paragraph 1.9 of the World Bank’s Guidelines: Selection and Employment of Consultants by World Bank Borrowers, January 2011, revised July 2014 [under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits & Grants] by World Bank Borrowers (“Consultant Guidelines”), setting forth the World Bank’s policy on conflict of interest. A Consultant will be selected in accordance with the Individual Consultant Selection method, Procurement Regulations for IPF Borrowers, November 2020.
