Encontra-se aberto concurso para a atribuição de 1 Bolsa de Investigação para Mestre no âmbito do ProjetoNeutralidade Carbónica 2045 – o papel do nexus água-energia-alimentos à escala local,na Nova School of Science na Technology (FCT NOVA), nas seguintes condições:
1. Área(s) Científica(s): Ciências ou Engenharia do Ambiente, Ciências Sociais ou áreas afins.
2. Requisitos obrigatórios de admissão:
i) Estar inscrito num curso conferente ou não conferente de grau;
ii) Mestrado nas áreas de Ciências ou Engenharia do Ambiente, Ciências Sociais ou áreas afins;
3. Os(as) candidatos(as) deverão possuir como requisitos preferenciais:
a) Experiência na elaboração de inquéritos no âmbito do nexus energia-clima-alimentos;
b) Experiência de tratamento e análise de dados quantitativos (e.g. SPSS ou outro programa estatístico);
c) Experiência ou interesse no desenho e avaliação de cenários prospetivos dentro do quadro das alterações climáticas e dos objetivos de neutralidade carbónica;
d) Experiência ou interesse na preparação e execução de workshops com stakeholders locais;
e) Experiência ou interesse na escrita de publicações (e.g. relatórios, artigos científicos);
f) Experiência na disseminação de resultados de investigação para públicos académicos e não académicos;
g) Domínios das línguas portuguesa e inglesa.
4. Plano de trabalhos:
As tarefas a desenvolver pelo(a) bolseiro(a) incluem as seguintes:
i. Listagem de políticas e medidas existentes enquadradas direta ou indiretamente em objetivos de auto-suficiência e sustentabilidade de recursos à escala municipal.
ii. Avaliação do potencial técnico económico de sistemas de produção alimentar à escala municipal, considerando diferentes cenários de uso do solo.
iii. Desenhar e avaliar cenários prospetivos para o nexus energia-água-alimentos, com vista a analisar o impacto na neutralidade carbónica e na sustentabilidade de um município;
iv. Definir um conjunto de indicadores e métricas de sustentabilidade, para avaliar as diferentes trajetórias de neutralidade climática de um município.
v. Participar na escrita de artigos científicos;
vi. Promover a divulgação de atividades de investigação em vários meios digitais e outras ações a decidir.
5. Legislação e regulamentação aplicável: Lei Nº. 40/2004, de 18 de Agosto, alterado e republicado pelo Decreto-lei Nº 202/2012 de 27 de Agosto (Estatuto do Bolseiro de Investigação Científica) e alterado pelo Decreto-Lei nº 233/2012 de 29 de Outubro, pela Lei nº12/2013 de 29 de Janeiro, pelo Decreto-Lei nº 89/2013, de 9 de Julho e pelo Decreto-Lei n.º 123/2019, de 28 de Agosto; Regulamento de Bolsas de Investigação da Fundação Para a Ciência e a Tecnologia, I.P. em vigor (https://www.fct.pt/apoios/bolsas/docs/RegulamentoBolsasFCT2019.pdf).
6. Local de trabalho: O trabalho será desenvolvido no Departamentos de Ciências e Engenharia do Ambiente da Universidade Nova de Lisboa, sob a orientação científica de professora Doutora Júlia Seixas, com afiliação institucional no CENSE (Center for Environmental and Sustainability Research). O trabalho poderá também ser realizado em modo de teletrabalho, mediante acordo entre a coordenadora do projeto e o bolseiro(a).
7. Duração da(s) bolsa(s): A bolsa terá à duração de 6 meses, com início previsto em junho de 2023.
8. Valor do subsídio de manutenção mensal: O montante da bolsa corresponde a €1199.64 (mil cento e noventa e nove euros e sessenta e quatro cêntimos) conforme tabela de valores das bolsas atribuídas diretamente pela FCT, I.P. no País (consultar Anexo I do Novo Regulamento) sendo o pagamento efetuado mensalmente por transferência bancária.
9. Métodos de seleção: As candidaturas serão ordenadas com base na avaliação curricular e, caso considerado necessário pelo júri, a realização de uma entrevista. Em todos os casos, a adequação do perfil do candidato será considerada de acordo com as funções/atividades a desempenhar. As candidaturas que não incluam todos os elementos exigidos para o envio da candidatura serão automaticamente excluídas do concurso. As fases e critérios de seleção e suas respetivas ponderações são as seguintes:
a) Avaliação curricular
i. Avaliação do currículo (70%);
ii. Carta de motivação (30%)
b) Em caso de necessidade de elementos de avaliação suplementares, poderá haver lugar a uma entrevista entre os candidatos melhor classificados no processo de avaliação, passando a ponderação percentual a ser de 70% para o resultado obtidos nos critérios mencionados na alínea anterior e 30% para a entrevista.

11. Forma de publicitação/notificação dos resultados: Os resultados finais da avaliação serão notificados, até 15 dias após a data limite para a submissão de candidaturas, através de correio eletrónico, dos resultados propostos pelo júri, tendo acesso às atas e à lista de ordenação final. Após a notificação, os candidatos terão 10 dias úteis para se pronunciarem sobre o projeto de decisão, em sede de audiência prévia dos interessados, nos termos do Código do Procedimento Administrativo. A decisão final será tomada após o decurso do período de audiência prévia, novamente notificada a todos os candidatos através de correio eletrónico, cabendo reclamação da mesma, no prazo de 15 dias úteis (para o endereço de e-mail utilizado para a notificação), ou recurso, no prazo de 10 dias úteis, endereçado a mjs@fct.unl.pt.
12. Prazo de candidatura e forma de apresentação das candidaturas: O concurso encontra-se aberto no período de 12 de maio a 25 de maio de 2023. One research Scholarship for candidates with a MSc degree is open within the framework of project “Carbon neutrality 2045 – The role of water-energy-food nexus at local level” NOVA School of Science and Technology (FCT NOVA).
The tasks will be conducted under the supervision of Professor Dra. Júlia Seixas NOVA School of Science and Technology (FCT NOVA) under the following conditions:
1. Scientific area: Environmental engineer or environmental sciences, Social sciences, or similar
2. Admission requirements:
The call is open to:
· National citizens or citizens of other Member States of the European Union;
· Citizens of third countries with which Portugal has signed a reciprocity agreement, or who hold, until the date of commencement of the grant, a valid residence permit or are beneficiaries of long-term resident status under the terms provided for in Law no. 123/2007, of July 4th, last amended and republished by Law No. 102/2017, of August 28th.
· Stateless persons;
· Citizens who are beneficiaries of political refugee status;
2.1 Candidates must have as mandatory requirements
a) Enrolment in a coruse in the areas of Environmental Sciences or Engineering, Social Sciences or related fields;
b) Master degree in the areas of Environmental Science or Engineering, Social Sciences or related fields;
2.2 Candidates preferential requirements (not exclusive):
a) Experience in the elaboration of surveys on energy-climate-food nexus;
b) Experience in processing and analyzing quantitative data (e.g. SPSS or other statistical program);
c) Experience or interest in the design and assessment of prospective scenarios for water-energy-food systems within the framework of climate change and carbon neutrality goals;
d) Experience or interest in preparing and running workshops with local stakeholders;
e) Experience or interest in writing scientific publications (e.g. reports, scientific articles);
f) Experience in disseminating research results to academic and non-academic audiences;
g) Domains in Portuguese and English.
3. Workplan:
The main task to be developed are:
a) List all the existing policy and measures under the scope of city resource self-sufficiency and sustainability.
b) Estimate the technical-economic potential of food production system at local scale with different land uses scenarios.
c) Design and evaluate prospective scenarios for Cascais, with a view to analysing the impact of self-sufficiency on the city’s sustainability, in climate change scenarios and carbon neutral goals;
d) Establish a range of environmental, social and economic metrics and indicators for the different scenarios sustainability assessment.
e) Participate in the writing of scientific articles;
f) Promote the dissemination of the project in various digital media and other actions to be decided.

5. Worksplace: The work will be developed Department of Science and Environmental Engineering, NOVA School of Science and Technology. The work will be conducted under the supervion of Professor Dra. Júlia Seixas NOVA School from the Science and Technology of the NOVA University of Lisbon (FCT NOVA).
The work may also be carried out in telework mode, upon agreement between the supervisor and the scholarship holder.
5. Duration of the scholarship: the schorlarship will have a duration of 6 months, scheduled to start on june 2023.
7. Benefits: The amount of the scholarship corresponds to € 1199.64 (one thousand one hundred and ninety-nine euros and sixty-four cents), according to the table of values of the scholarships assigned directly by FCT, I.P: in the country (see Annex I of the new Regulation), the payment is made monthly by bank transfer.
8. Selection methods and their valuation: Applications will be ranked based on the curricular evaluation, and, if considered necessary by the jury, interviews may be carried out. In all cases, the adequacy of the applicant’s profile will be considered according to the functions/activities to be developed. Applications that do not include all the required elements for sending the application will be automatically excluded from the application process. The phases and selection criteria and their respective weightings are as follows:
a) Curricular evaluation; i) Evaluation of the Curriculum Vitae (70%); ii) Motivation letter (30%)
b) If additional evaluation elements are required, there may be an interview process between the best-classified candidates in the evaluation process. The interview may have a maximum weight of 30% for the final evaluation, with the others changing to 70%.

Form of publicity/notification of results: The final evaluation results will be notified, up to 15 days after the deadline for submission of applications, through electronic mail, from the results proposed by the jury, having access to the minutes and the final sorting list. After notification, candidates will have 10 working days to pronounce on the draft decision-making, in the pre-hearing of the interested parties, under the Code of the Administrative Procedure. After the prior hearing period, the final decision will be taken, and again notifying all candidates through electronic mail. A complaint process can be done within 15 working days (for the e-mail address used for the notification), or appeal within 10 business days, addressed to mjs@fct.unl.pt.
Application Deadline and submission process: The application process is open between 12 of may to 25 of may 2023. Applications must be formalized by sending an e-mail to mjs@fct.unl.pt; indicating in the subject: “Application for a Scholarship – Carbon Neutrality at local level project”; accompanied by the following documents: curriculum vitae, copy of the certificate of qualifications (with reference to ORCID or CiênciaVitae profiles) , and other supporting documents considered relevant, namely Proof of enrollment in a faculty course in the areas of Environmental Sciences or Engineering, Social Sciences or similar areas in current school year. For academic degrees obtained in foreign countries, which have not yet obtained either recognition or equivalence or registration of the degree, it is necessary to recognize the degree, in accordance with Decree-Law No. 66/2018, of August 16, in conjunction with Portaria No. 33/2019, of January 25th.
It is also required that the application and all documents associated with it, including the motivation and recommendation letters, be written in English.
