What will you do as a Nature-based Solutions Specialist?
The overall purpose of this role will be:
- To be our technical expert on nature-based solutions topic within Asia-Pacific, act as specialist on urban and/or coastal resilience projects and be a thought leader to our junior colleagues and engineering teams in the region.
- As part of the global resilience team, to actively contribute to the growth of our climate resilience portfolio by utilising your (and our) networks and contacts.
- To contribute from the content to opportunity and proposal processes leading to additional successful and profitable growth of the business in the region.
- To lead and be part of project teams solving complex issues, either in policy development, plan development, design and implementation and/or realization.
- End responsible for delivering (sub)-projects with high quality, and within budget and time for the Nature-based solutions domain.
The general responsibilities are:
Get work processes
- Initiate and maintain relations with potential and existing clients/accounts, monitor developments and performance of accounts in the most professional manner
- Work actively with Business Developers across APAC on agreed areas of opportunity and jointly signal new developments on NbS.
- Raise brand awareness in the relevant sectors within the relevant markets
- Prepare or lead preparation of proposals within the field of Nature-based Solutions topic around urban and/or coastal resilience projects.
Execution of Projects
- Perform your duties as specialist on projects throughout the complete project design cycle (concept, master planning, pre-feasibility, feasibility, and detailed design phases), implementation phases and realisation phases
- Act as thought leader for other staff in the region
- Work effectively with the processes, tools, and resources of Royal HaskoningDHV, including being proactive in sharing knowledge, continuously improving processes, creating innovations, and relentlessly striving for technical excellence
- Plan, manage, quality control, and close projects successfully by completing tasks and deliverables on time and within budget and to the satisfaction of the clients
Strategy and Account Management
- Keep up-to-date with the latest best practices, scientific advances, and technological innovations in the industry to cost-effectively delivery using diverse internal and external sources
- Build, maintain and utilise a network of internal and external stakeholders / partners within the climate resilience sector and represent Royal HaskoningDHV

Royal HaskoningDHV endeavours to strengthen its capabilities around Nature-based Solutions for the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region for Business Line Water & Maritime.
Our Indonesian team consist of professionals in the Water & Maritime sectors. We are an enthusiastic and fast-growing team with a mix of cultural backgrounds and educations. You will be part of the Climate Resilience team in Indonesia, being based in our (new) Jakarta office, but work with our regional Water & Maritime colleagues in Australia, the Philippines, Singapore, and Vietnam
Working location will be Jakarta however Ho Chi Minh City or Manila location could also be discussed.

Experience:
At least 5 years’ relevant experience in nature-based solutions or green infrastructure implementation within projects with proven track record in one or all the following main markets:
- Coastal resilience and Integrated Coastal Management
- (Urban) Flood resilience
- Climate adaptation
- Disaster Risk Management
- River Basin Planning and Management
Experience working with the World Bank, Asian Development Bank, understanding the organisation structure, strategic objectives and way of working would be advantageous.
Qualifications:
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Management, Civil Engineering, Earth sciences, or other relevant degree.
- Working experience in either of the following countries: Philippines, Singapore, Vietnam or Indonesia. Experience in multiple countries would be highly regarded
- Excellent knowledge of the English language (written and verbal).
