About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced water treatment engineer to join NSW Public Works’ Water Resources Management Team. The position will be mainly responsible for undertaking investigation, design and commissioning of water and wastewater treatment plants and ancillary infrastructure. Reporting to the Principal Engineer, you will have:

  • Degree qualification in chemical or process engineering, or related discipline, together with proven extensive professional experience working in the water treatment field.
  • More than 10 years demonstrated post-graduate experience in design, installation, and commissioning of new water treatment plants and upgrading of existing plants.
  • Proven experience in site investigations, water quality analysis, options development, concept design and preparation of technical specifications.
  • Proven experience in commissioning of conventional treatment plants.
  • Proven experience in fault diagnosis in conventional treatment plants.
  • High-level communication skills, both oral and written and provision of technical leadership, advice and services.
  • Experience in municipal sewage treatment plants will be an added benefit and highly regarded.

The candidate shall have the ability to complete projects independently from beginning to end with the help of other junior engineers and support from the Principal Engineer. The candidate will also work with a multi-disciplinary team comprising of civil, mechanical and electrical engineers.
