Position Details

A key focus is on protecting the water quality connected systems, such as the Gippsland Lakes and the Murray River, in accordance with the Environmental Protection Amendment Act (2017). The role will also contribute to meeting Victoria’s salinity obligations under the Murray-Darling Basin Agreement and the Basin Salinity Management 2030 strategy (BSM2030). This will involve working in a broader team to deliver regional projects, which contribute to a successful salinity management framework across four States and one Territory.

Importantly, the role will work closely with partners including Catchment Management Authorities, Agriculture Victoria, rural water authorities and colleagues across DELWP to design and administer the program. Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications

  • Relevant tertiary qualification (e.g. Degree/post-graduate study in science, engineering, hydrology, natural resource/environmental management, agricultural science or similar discipline) is highly desirable. 
  • Experience working in the Victorian water industry or natural resource management sector is highly desirable.

This is a fixed term position available for a period of 6 months. The work location for this position is flexible within Victoria with hybrid work arrangements available.
