ShiftMonday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm, weekends as required by project work.
Job SummaryThe Kentucky Water Resources Research Institute is seeking an outgoing, motivated individual to assist with coordination of water quality management efforts within the Kentucky River Basin.This role includes the following responsibilities:1) Providing technical assistance for watershed management activities within the basin, including coordination of a basin team technical advisory group.2) Serving as a representative of the basin for stakeholders at state and local meetings.3) Coordinating the basin volunteer water quality sampling program logistics and data management.4) Developing an annual water quality assessment of the basin.5) Managing the Kentucky River Authority’s watershed grant program.

Preferred Education/ExperienceWorking knowledge of the Kentucky River Basin with emphasis on watershed land use, assessment techniques, impairment, restoration, and stakeholder outreach and engagementComfort with public presentation, meeting facilitation and planning, and professional networking amongst diverse stakeholder groupsAbility to provide environmental education, training, and translation of research to target audiences of various levelsWriting and data visualization for technical and general audiencesGrant application preparation, management, and coordinationExperience developing social media outreach campaignsFamiliarity with GIS-related (i.e. ArcGIS) and graphic design (i.e. Canva) softwareUse of a personal vehicle for work-related, reimbursed travel
