The Post-doctoral Fellow/Research Assistant positions are available in the following technical areas: waterhammer/hydraulic transient modelling; optimization; machine learning/AI; and acoustics/acoustic metamaterials.
The appointees will be working on various R&D innovation & technology projects. Further details about the projects and tasks will be discussed during interview sessions. They will be working in a diverse environment, where students, researchers and engineers are working together to develop innovative technologies to assure water resources sustainability. Also, you will have many opportunities to attend Continuing Professional Development modules (including seminars, conferences, short courses, workshops, training certificates). Several tasks in the R&D projects also require non-civil engineering expertise, which includes computer science engineering, mechanical/robotics engineering, physics and mathematics.
Applicants should have a PhD degree in civil, mechanical or electrical engineering, computer science engineering or related fields. Master’s degrees or less can be accepted if experience and expertise justifies; professional Chartered Engineer Accreditation is not required. Excellent spoken and written English is required with the ability to effectively and respectfully engage in all level communication. The ideal candidate should be flexible, organized; and diligent; have a practical approach to help resolve technical issues and meet deadlines; and able to respond positively and adapt to changing priorities. (Duration: 1 – 2 years)
Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided. A gratuity will be payable upon successful completion of contract with duration of 2 years.
