Content of job information[Job description]
The appointed associate professor is required to promote research that contributes to the refinement of integrated water resource management models, such as the improvement of soil hydrological processes based on deep understanding of air-land water and heat exchange processes and numerical methods, the identification of surface parameters using data assimilation, and runoff bias correction for highly accurate real-time prediction of the water cycle from high water to low water, as well as drought monitoring. The candidate is also expected to conduct innovative research on future climate projection that takes into account human activities such as urbanization and irrigation. In addition, the candidate will have responsibility for education in the Department of Urban Management, Graduate School of Engineering, Kyoto University.

Qualifications[Required qualification]
The candidate must hold a Ph.D. or equivalent degree and be proficient in Japanese.
Compensation[Working time]
Discretionary labor system (standard working hours: 7 hours 45 minutes per day, 38 hours 45 minutes per week)
Days off: Saturdays, Sundays, Statutory holidays under the Act on National Holidays, Year-end and New Year’s holidays, Anniversary of Foundation of the University, and summer holidays.

[Salary and Allowance]
To be determined in accordance with Kyoto University regulations.
