Your Role:

Tetra Tech is seeking mid- to senior-level project managers to manage projects under Federal contracts and lead multi-disciplinary teams to help ensure the security of the U.S. water infrastructure, including drinking water and wastewater systems. The position requires working closely with federal government clients and public and private sector stakeholders to provide strategic and programmatic support for ensuring the security of the nation’s critical drinking water and wastewater infrastructure from natural and man-made disasters, terrorism, cybersecurity incidents, and climate change. The position involves a combination of project management experience and subject matter knowledge to organize and lead multi-disciplinary teams to develop project deliverables and meet project objectives. The successful candidate will collaborate with diverse experts from across Tetra Tech to provide subject matter expertise in drinking water processes and controls, water and wastewater infrastructure, and associated technologies.

Position responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Leading project teams and providing technical and management consulting services to federal agencies in such areas as critical infrastructure protection and resilience; national and regional preparedness, response, and recovery from all hazards, including natural and man-made disasters, terrorism, cybersecurity incidents, and climate change
  • Developing policies, processes and technologies used for securing water and wastewater systems, operational and physical security monitoring, information management, and response planning in accordance with federal laws and regulations.

Projects will involve a range of policy, programmatic, and/or technical support in such areas as regulatory analysis and development, technical guidance development, risk communications, stakeholder engagement and training, technology transfer, peer reviews, training and exercises, and other similar support. Project management responsibilities include project budget formulation, scheduling, financial tracking and reporting, staff planning and management, and client engagement across one or more projects.

Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of relevant experience addressing water infrastructure security policies, programs, or operations.
  • Policy, scientific, engineering, or other technical expertise in a relevant environmental, emergency management, water infrastructure, or water security program subject matter area.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of relevant federal statutes, including Clean Water Act, Safe Drinking Water Act, Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act, America’s Water Infrastructure Act, and the regulations and policies affecting water and wastewater infrastructure and resources.
  • Demonstrated experience managing projects and teams including staffing, scheduling, budgeting, and operations.
  • Demonstrated experience managing and supporting clients, preferably under federal contracts.
  • Experience working with or for federal environmental protection, disaster planning and preparedness, and emergency response programs highly desirable.
  • Strong technical writing and oral presentation skills.
  • May be required to obtain a security clearance based on project-specific requirements.

Education and Certifications:

BA/BS degree required; masters degree preferred in a relevant public policy, science, or environmental or civil engineering field. 

Physical Demands:

Candidate must be able to sit or stand at a desk/computer in an office environment for office-based tasks.

Work Environment:

Primarily an office work environment with potential for remote/at home work arrangements. Some domestic travel may be required to participate in meetings or conferences. Local travel to client offices for in-person meetings expected.
