Job description

CTG overviewCTG staff and support humanitarian projects in fragile and conflict-affected countries around the world, providing a rapid and cost-effective service for development and humanitarian missions. With past performance in 17 countries – from the Middle East, Africa, Europe, and Asia, we have placed more than 20,000 staff all over the world since operations began in 2006.

CTG recruits, deploys and manages the right people with the right skills to implement humanitarian and development projects, from cleaners to obstetricians, and mechanics to infection specialists, we’re skilled in emergency response to crises such as the Ebola outbreak in West Africa. Key to successful project delivery is the ability to mobilise at speed; CTG can source and deploy anyone, anywhere, in less than 2 weeks and have done so in 48 hours on a number of occasions.

Through our efficient and agile HR, logistical and operational services, CTG saves multilateral organisations time and money. We handle all our clients’ HR related issues, so they are free to focus on their core services.

Role objectivesSupervise the team of CLTS facilitators (both male and female) in his/her related communities of the provinceImplement the CLTS using the Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) tools with the villagers of target communitiesVigorous follow up from the communities they are triggeredEffective use of IEC materials in the target villages and their follow upConduct hygiene education sessions for the villagers inside the village or at the district or provincial levelAssist the female CLTS facilitators liaising the female CHWs and establishing and training the Family Health Action Groups (FHAGs)Conduct community hygiene awareness and sanitary campaignsContribute in the arrangement of ODF verification, certification and declaration ceremonies at the district and village levelProvide the provincial Hygiene and Sanitation officer with success stories and photos from the fieldReporting on regular bases

Further informationQualification and skills:The CLTS supervisor should be at least a high school graduateMinimum of two years of experience working with communitiesExperience in hygiene and sanitation is preferredExperience in working with community and community mobilization will be given the priorityFamiliarity with cultures of different Afghan communitiesVery good interpersonal communication skillsAbility to supervise personnelAbility to speak in big gatherings and interact very smoothly and politelyThe candidate should be very polite and patientSkills to convince othersMust be able to communicate well in local language/s
