Job Description Summary
Performs highly complex (senior-level) planning work on the Regional Water Planning Team. These planners support and coordinate the development of regional water plans by regional water planning groups. Work also involves coordinating and managing planning grant contracts for development of regional water plans. Planners serve as liaison (non-voting member) on regional water planning groups and provide unbiased technical and administrative assistance to regional water planning groups including assisting the groups in understanding and navigating the regional water planning framework. Provides rules and guidance, reviewing the draft regional water plans, and informing and educating stakeholders including making presentations. Supports regional water project development teams and evaluates projects as part of the agency funding application process. Assists in developing the state water plan. May supervise the work of others. Works under limited supervision, with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Reports to the Manager of the Regional Water Planning Department.
