WHAT WE CAN ACHIEVE TOGETHER

The Policy and Strategic Programs Coordinator supports day-to-day management for (1) tasks under the TNC Caribbean Policy and Strategic Programs (PSP) Team (estimated time: 50%) and (2) the “CoralCarib” regional project (estimated time: 50%), a multi-year project publicly funded project to improve marine biodiversity, specifically of coral reef ecosystems, in Cuba, Dominican Republic, Haiti, and Jamaica. 

PSP Team responsibilities include: planning, scheduling, and supporting meetings with geographies and other teams; maintaining, tracking, and researching data; recording decisions and action items during meetings and tracking progress against team action items under direction of the PSP Director or regional Program Managers; maintaining team files and executing team communications; serving as the main point of contact for the Caribbean Division with regards to engagements and interactions with relevant public sector entities and the relationship management system Blackbaud CRM (BBCRM); supporting the PSP Director and regional Program Managers on execution of regional projects, with tasks including administration, operations, or project implementation (particularly the CoralCarib project); and performing other administrative, logistical, and support tasks as needed and directed by the PSP Director.

CoralCarib responsibilities include: supporting the Coral Conservation Program Manager and CoralCarib Project Manager on the execution of regional activities and coordination between countries to implement key coral reef conservation strategies and activities; supporting implementation of the CoralCarib project across target countries (Cuba, Dominican Republic, Haiti, and Jamaica) and the region; planning, scheduling, and executing regional meetings and tracking meeting minutes; supporting contract development and tracking; and providing logistical, administrative, and coordination support for regional travel and outreach events. 

WE’RE LOOKING FOR YOU

The Coordinator will work as a member of the Policy and Strategic Programs Team of the Caribbean Division to provide a broad range of services including key operational and logistical support. They also support operations, planning, and logistics for the regional project “CoralCarib: Pioneering a new strategic approach for conserving and restoring Caribbean coral reef ecosystems that targets Climate Resilient Refugia”, a multi-year project through 2028 touching down in Cuba, Dominican Republic, Haiti, and Jamaica.

The ideal candidate has experience in administrative coordination and supporting project managers, experience with database entry/analysis and report generation, someone who is a dedicated team-player, has great attention to detail, and is motivated to take on challenges. The position requires advanced verbal and written communication skills in English and Spanish.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

•    Bachelor’s degree and 3 years related experience or equivalent combination
•    Experience with key logistical and operational support, including event planning and international travel arrangements
•    Experience supporting operations of multiple projects (meeting minutes, contract tracking)
•    Experience with databases, generating reports, and analyzing/interpreting data
•    Experience handling standard business communications
•    Experience working with vendors  
•    Experience using applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Web Browsers
•    Experience working with cross-functional teams
•    Advanced verbal and written communication skills in English and Spanish.
