About the role

In this role you will be leading and input on the delivery of APEM’s water and sediment quality projects, including financial management. Leading and input on the delivery of cross team/divisional projects will also form a key part of this role.

You’ll also be undertaking client meetings, site visits and field surveys where required and providing technical input to projects and tenders.

We will discuss and agree any line management responsibilities and you will also be providing mentoring, support and guidance to senior and consultant grade scientists. With regards sales and marketing activity you will work with the team to identify opportunities for new work.

About you

Essential

  • Typically at least 5 years’ professional experience.
  • Experience of working in a commercial consulting environment.
  • Knowledgeable in water and sediment quality assessment and management including at least one of the following: water quality impact assessments, modelling, reservoir management, catchment management, algal blooms, taste and odour, lake nutrient budgeting, and lake restoration.
  • Proficient at project management.
  • Proficient at tendering/proposal writing including costing work.
  • An understanding of key UK environmental legislation.
  • Excellent Excel and Word skills.
  • Excellent data management and analysis skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Driving licence

Desirable

  • A relevant higher degree.
  • Experience in project management of large, high profile or complex projects.
  • Statistical analysis and modelling of large and complex environmental data sets.
  • Line management experience.
  • Professional accreditation or working towards it.
