Ramboll Water is represented by approximately 1.000 employees – professionals and specialists creating value for private and public clients through the provision of services within Water and Wastewater Treatment, Climate Adaptation and Water Infrastructure, and Water Resources Management.
 

The Global Division Director reports to the Managing Director for Ramboll Water. You will be part of our team of Global Division Directors and Country Market Directors and you will have an active collaboration with this global leadership team.

The Water Resources Management division

Water resources management encompasses a wide range of disciplines and expertise, including integrated water resources management, assessment of the demand for water for drinking, industrial and irrigation purposes, groundwater mapping and surface water monitoring, simulation and modelling of the hydrologic cycle, water rights and permitting, river basin management, institutional and capacity building, water resources and water quality protection, vulnerability and reliability assessments, master planning studies, sustainable water use/reuse policy and best practices.

Ramboll Water has extensive experience in water resource management and an impressive portfolio of projects for national and international organizations, private entities, governmental institutions, municipalities, and water supply companies. Our engineers, hydrologists, geologists, geophysicists, chemists, sociologists, and agronomists provide our clients with up-to-date knowledge and hands-on experience in the implementation of water resources management. All to ensure sustainable water supply now and for the future.

While the Water Resources Management team is involved in projects all over the world, the colleagues are currently anchored with departments in Denmark, Sweden, Norway, and US. The team covers close to 100 colleagues – with high growth ambitions for the coming years.

Key priorities for the Global Division Director

Your priority will be to drive our growth in the water resources management market, delivering innovative and sustainable services to our clients. As the Global Division Director for this market, you will be our visible leader externally and internally and demonstrate your collaboration skills through excellent stakeholder management and understanding of Ramboll matrix markets and countries.  

Your key tasks and responsibilities will include

  • Lead and grow the global Water Resources Management division – with ambitious profitable growth targets in the Nordics and the US
  • Responsible for developing and implementing the Water strategy and business plan within Water Resources Management
  • Develop Water Resources Management services and market position in the global water market as well as to identify and support the cross-market and cross-geographical synergies.  
  • Drive an open, collaborative, and innovative culture and work atmosphere for the colleagues in Water Resources Management
  • Working collaboratively with country directors and department heads on strategic hiring aligned with growth plans
  • Further improve the collaboration with Water globally, across markets and geographies, and with Ramboll Engineering Center, our team in India (our global execution model) 
  • Build and maintain a strong network with key public and private clients and stakeholders, represent Ramboll Water in relevant industry associations.
  • Chair the global meeting forum of Water Resources Management leaders to review performance, clients, markets, projects, opportunities, staffing/workload, synergies and to share relevant information from management 
  • Further develop the strong leadership team, including succession pipeline for key positions  

In addition to these key tasks, the role will also include other global responsibilities, for example taking the lead as project director for international projects, and leading other global initiatives linked to our Water strategy.

  • Inspirational, energetic, purpose driven leader with great communication skills 
  • A strong background in Water, preferably also within the field of Water Resources Management
  • Solid commercial understanding and business acumen developed through relevant education and/or from experience in related industries. 
  • Experience from working and leading in an international environment, with an eye for cross-cultural sensitivity
  • Experience working with public and private sector leaders
  • Successful experience in leading leaders from line management roles – identify and develop talents, set team direction, deal with ambiguity, coach, support, inspire and manage performance   
  • Accomplished track record of experience effectively managing the (profitable) P&L of a significant Consulting/Engineering unit.
