Job Summary

The Jal Bhagirathi Foundation is engaged in implementing integrated community-based water resource management projects in Rajasthan.

JBF is looking for a Project Team Leader to assume primary responsibility for daily project management including budgeting, planning and general monitoring of the field based projects.

Job Description

  • The Project Team Leader will build and lead a project team of grassroot workers and community volunteers in the villages of the project area located in the Jaipur Division. The Project Team Leader will supervise the field team to implement project activities that address the drinking water crises and sanitation.
  • Specific tasks of the Project Team Leader include
  1. Responsible for the management and supervision of all project activities and assuming full responsibility for delivery of project outputs.
  2. Assume primary responsibility for daily project management including budgeting, planning and general monitoring of the project.
  3. Monitor the expenditures, commitments and balance of funds under the project budget lines, and draft project budget revisions.
  4. Assume overall responsibility for meeting financial delivery targets set out in the agreed annual work plans, reporting on project funds and related record keeping.
  5. Ensure collection of relevant data necessary to monitor progress against indicators specified in the log-frame.
  6. Assume overall responsibility for reporting on project progress vis-Ă -vis indicators in the log-frame.
  7. Dissemination of project lessons through appropriate knowledge platforms and for further (action-) research
  8. Assume overall responsibility for timely reporting to the donor on project progress through donor reports, publications, articles, blogs and website updates etc.
  9. Designing and implementing a strategy for the effective engagement of stakeholders critical to project objectives at all levels (local, state, national, international) and advancing partnerships
  10. Organising events related to stakeholder engagement and policy advocacy and representing the project in conferences, workshops and consultations
  11. Responding to any project-related demands that fall within the ambit of the position

Desired Candidate Profile

Bachelor’s degree or Master’s Degree in Management, with fluency in written and spoken Hindi and English and if he/she is from the development sector, he/she will be required to have field experience of at least 10-15 years in grass-root project management in rural areas with an NGO. If the candidate is from the private sector background, he/she should have 10-15 years field experience which required independent management of teams not less than 100 people. The candidate should be in the age group of 40 to 50 years, physically fit and willing to spend 15 to 20 days on field visits in rural Rajasthan. He/she should be able to inspire the team by personal example and possess the following

  • Ability to implement and report on development programmes/projects.
  • Engage with multi-stakeholders at state, national and international levels
  • Have CSR and fund-raising experience
  • Familiarity with the working environment and professional standards of international non-profit organizations
  • Experience in working with participatory approaches
