ACTED PSEAH Policy:

The Sanitationworker has the responsibility to adhere to the PSEAH Policy (Protection against Sexual Exploitation, Abuse and Harassment). The Sanitationworker has the obligation to complete all mandatory trainings related to the Code of Conduct and the PSEA policy and report any safeguarding concern such as breaches of organisational policies or codes of conduct according to ACTED’s procedures. The Sanitationworker carries out work duties in a way that does not harm children, vulnerable adults or other staff or volunteers.

Job Purpose

The Sanitation worker will be responsible for the daily work to ensure that the sewage networks and latrines blocks through unclogging sewage lines, latrines blocks and inspection drilling in order to detect the malfunctions within the camps and inform the direct supervisor with the completed maintenance.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Performing unclogging of the manholes using mechanical devices and or water pumps.
  2. Make the necessary preparations for the inspection to identify malfunctions in the sewage network and latrines blocks.
  3. Carry out maintenance work for manholes, regularly and on demand.
  4. Coordinate with the monitors during the maintenance period and after completion.
  5. Work outside duty hours in an emergency maintenance situation.
  6. Any other tasks related to work when required by the line manager

QUALIFICATIONS

  • The applicant must be a resident of camps covered by ACTED at Qah, Karama, Leeajlekom, and Salam clusters.
  • At least 2 years of previous experience in maintenance and dealing with unclogging tools.
  • be physically fit for this work.
  • Completely able to work and not engaged with any other jobs.
  • Good knowledge of the locations of sewage networks and latrines blocks in the area of operation.
  • Knowledge in Arabic (Reading and Writing)
  • Past job experience in INGOs in similar position”
