Position HighlightsCandidates are sought for an Associate Director (Year-to Year Professional) and Associate/Full Extension Specialist (Continuing Status Eligible, Fiscal Year appointment), at the Water Resources Research Center (WRRC) in the Division of Agriculture, Life and Veterinary Sciences, and Cooperative Extension at the University of Arizona. Duties & ResponsibilitiesProvide program direction and leadership for WRRC efforts in collaboration with key stakeholders at the local, state, and federal levels.Carry out programmatic endeavors associated with the WRRC’s Extension Center status and its federal status pursuant to the Water Resources Research Act of 1964, as amended.Conduct applied research and engagement programs consistent with the WRRC’s mission.Establish and maintain extramural funding.Participate in and provide effective and appropriate levels of service as a faculty member.Build, develop, and support reciprocal, beneficial relationships with Cooperative Extension and University colleagues, tribal partners, governmental agencies, state agencies, and other partners throughout Arizona and the broader region.Participate in scholarly activity, including authoring/co-authoring articles on research projects and programs.Speak at conferences, forums, and other programs on WRRC projects and programs.Participate in the preparation of periodic reports to funding agencies or institutions.Travel throughout the state, as needed, to provide leadership and support for program delivery.Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesKnowledge of water policy and management of Arizona and the Colorado River Basin.Ability to create and maintain effective partnerships and working relationships both internally and among external stakeholders.Ability to obtain and leverage extramural funding.Excellent written and oral communication skills.Commitment to quality and collegiality.Knowledge of budget administration.Skills in supervising personnel.Ability to promote and foster diversity.
