Do you have what it takes to be successful in this role?

  • Attain relevant qualification in Climate Change, environment and public health, WASH with 3-5years of experience in a project implementation in Solomon Islands.
  • Demonstrated skills and experience in working with partners and community members and/or community-based organisations.
  • Relevant qualifications and/or demonstrated experience in the implementation, monitoring and evaluation of WASH programs.
  • Experience/understanding of WASH tools such as Community-led Total Sanitation, Water Safety Planning, UNICEF 3-Star School standards, WASH in Schools and WASH Construction.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to produce succinct written reports in English.
  • Organized and self-motivated to adapt and adjust to implement activities effectively within changing power dynamics and community priorities.
  • Openness and enthusiasm for learning the new tools and approaches, and then being able to facilitate the learning of others in the Project tools.
  • Openness to continual self-reflection and learning.
  • Excellent interpersonal, relationship-building and social analysis and influencing skills specific to cultural and political context of Solomon Islands
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team and with upper management
  • Knowledge of the use of word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Good organizational and time management skills
  • Able to work well under pressure and meet all deadlines
