About the Role
The Flood Management Officer works as part of a small team to develop and deliver flood management projects and policies in line with the Flood Hazard Plan, such as flood forecasting and warning services, land use planning policies and flood mitigation options such as levees. The position supports the South Australian State Emergency Services during flood incidents and provides advice to local government and the community about flood risks and flood management. The Flood Management Officer will collaborate with key partners and stakeholders and contribute to advice on flood management to Ministers and the Department’s Executive.
Special Conditions
- May be required to participate in fire and flood management activities including emergency response
- Current class C driver’s licence and willingness to drive is essential
- Some intra/interstate travel involving overnight absences may be required
- Some out of hours work may be required
- May be required to participate on a roster system for duties associated with emergency response including on call and standby arrangements
Contract: Ongoing
Remuneration: PO2 $85,665 minimum – $94,801 maximum p.a.
