Read more about us here. Since our founding in 2001, we have achieved amazing things, including securing over $230M to create 26 new acres of waterfront parkland in the South Bronx and build River House as a new boathouse, environmental education center, and community gathering space. We have led over 25,000 (mostly Bronxites) on paddling trips; restored denuded, eroded riverbanks into a healthy forested buffer; pulled 400 tons of cars, tires and other debris from the river; engaged over 20,000 volunteers in hands-on stewardship and community science; and witnessed the return of alewife, American eel, oysters and even a bald eagle to the river. We have recently launched a 14-month, paid environmental internship for youth in EJ communities to connect with opportunities in the growing environmental sector.
