About the role

We are recruiting for an aspiring female Associate Professor or Professor in Water Resources within the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering. In this role you will be dedicated to developing and leading research. You will also support academic activities and deliver teaching in the specialist areas of Water Resources, at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. You will be responsible for connecting with industry and industry engagement activities.

In order to address the underrepresentation of female Academic staff in STEM, UTS was granted an exemption under section 126 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1997 (NSW) (ADA) to conduct targeted recruitment programs. In accordance with this exemption, only applications from female candidates will be considered for this role.

About you

As an Associate Professor or Professor, you will have demonstrated knowledge of the engineering practice of resource management, floods, hydrology and hydraulics, as well as course development within Water and Environmental Engineering. You are conscientious, have excellent interpersonal skills and experience supervising HDR students. Other requirements will include:

PhD in Civil or Environmental Engineering
Knowledge of recent advances in water resources and engineering and familiar with system design in water engineering
Knowledge of recent advances in water resources and engineering
Ability to connect with industry partners and ability to attract funding
Strong record of research achievement / publication track record.

Remuneration/Salary
Base Salary Range: $164,560 to $180,395 pa (Level D) / $204,619 pa (Level E)

This role attracts 17% superannuation (pension) in addition to the base salary.

This position is full-time and appointment will be made on a continuing basis.
