You will join our Strategic Sustainability Consulting division in Belgium

You will be part of a dynamic and growing department with a high professional drive and strong collaborative spirit. Our multidisciplinary team works primarily for the European Institutions and other public sector actors across various policy domains including Environment, Climate, Energy, Infrastructure, Buildings, Sustainable Cities, and Just transition. Based in Brussels, we work closely with the EU institutions, and we are the forefront of international sustainability efforts.

As a Management Consultancy within Ramboll, our projects are often characterised by bridging deep technical expertise and strategic understanding specialising in strategy and policy advice. You will work continuously with our colleagues in our Strategic Sustainability Consulting division and have access to a global pool of technical expertise in Ramboll Group throughout Europe and worldwide.

Your responsibilities as starting point for constant growth

Analysts joining our team will have the opportunity to work directly with clients to drive environmental impact while developing their expertise and consulting skills. Your key tasks and responsibilities will be:

  • Working across a range of environmental and climate policy areas relevant to the EU green-deal
  • Working on proposals and projects contributing to EU policy making, such as feasibility and strategy studies, policy analysis, evaluations, impact assessments, comparative studies and benchmarking, social and environmental cost and benefit analyses, stakeholder consultations
  • Conducting quantitative and qualitative data processing, modelling, analysis
  • Working on data collection, desk research, interviews, surveys
  • Writing reports, formulating and making recommendations, and
  • Help clients implement proposed solutions
  • Undertaking administrative tasks

Your qualifications

From the moment you join Ramboll, we will support your personal and professional development so that you grow with the company. For this role, we believe your starting point is:

  • You have a Bachelor’s degree and are either in the final stages of, or have completed, a Master’s Degree in energy, climate, environment, sustainability, economics or a related area
  • You have knowledge of and interest in EU policy
  • You have experience in and enjoy drafting coherent and compelling analytical texts based on a wide range of qualitative and quantitative sources
  • You have excellent command of English, both written and oral, and ideally fluency in at least one more EU language; ability to work in French is considered an advantage
  • It is an advantage if you have expertise in:
    • Advanced technics for the analysis of qualitative or quantitative data, including modelling
    • Biodiversity and ecosystem service valuation
    • Circular economy and life cycle analysis

Personal qualities that will help you succeed in this role include having an independent, pro-active personality, an interdisciplinary mind-set, and a genuine interest and commitment towards sustainability topics. Also, you should be able to communicate complex issues in a simple way both in writing and verbally and to handle multiple priorities and a varied workload.

The opportunity we offer is an internship through the Belgian CIP (professional induction programme) and has a duration of 1 year, with a mid-term review after six months. The internship period is from 3rd of April 2023 to 29th of March 2024. It will be remunerated at 1,100 EUR net per month and will include paid holidays.
