The State Water Resources Control Board’s Office of Research, Planning, and Performance has an opening for a Senior Engineering Geologist (Supervisor). The incumbent will lead SGMA Unit I and help implement the Sustainable Groundwater Management Act (SGMA). SGMA may be the biggest change in California water law in the last century. SGMA was enacted to halt groundwater overdraft and bring groundwater basins into balanced levels of pumping and recharge, ideally through local management of groundwater. Implementation will have wide-reaching impacts and is a priority for the Board and the Administration. This position is located at 1001 I St., Sacramento. This position may be eligible for a hybrid telework schedule.
