Working in a dynamic environment, the Project Officer – Water Emergency Operations works as a member of a small team to support emergency response, policy and programs in the areas of emergency management, risk resilience and climate change.

The position includes activities and project work that makes a real contribution to the goals of the team they work with.

The project officer role includes assisting in contract management, coordinating and monitoring reports, reviewing documentation, monitoring emergency communications and setting-up and providing follow-up on meetings with stakeholders. A key component of the role is working with the broader team to ensure objectives are met and assisting with priority projects and tasks. There is opportunity for growth and development within the role.

Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications

  • Relevant tertiary qualification and or experience.
  • Relevant professional work experience in project coordination and delivery role.
  • A working knowledge of the Victorian water industry would be an advantage but is not required.

This is a fixed term position available for a period of 3 years. The work location for this position is 8 Nicholson Street, East Melbourne.
