The Opportunity

Ducks Unlimited Canada (DUC), one of Canada’s leading conservation organizations, is looking for an energetic, confident and innovative Wetland Restoration Project Manager for the BC Conservation program. The ideal candidate would be located in Kamloops or other location within the Southern Interior of BC.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Identifying and scoping wetland restoration projects to meet partner needs.
  • Assigning roles within our team and coordinating with colleagues to ensure conservation projects are delivered on time and on budget.
  • Identifying permitting pathways and ensuring permit submissions are complete on time to keep projects on track
  • Managing service contracts with consultants as needed.
  • Writing project proposals and reports.
  • Support development and negotiation of customized pricing and services with various business partners.
  • Support developing and maintaining relationships with current and prospective business partners.
  • Support diversifying revenue streams and seeking new business opportunities for DUC to deliver conservation and restoration services for industry partners.

The ability to quickly assess risk and prioritize opportunities will make the successful candidate a key asset to our team.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary degree in environmental science, applied biology, hydrology or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in project management, and/or client management and/or habitat restoration.
  • Strong understanding of BC provincial and Canadian Federal regulatory frameworks related to wetlands, fish, and wildlife
  • Experience delivering wetland and/or other habitat restoration projects.
  • Proven ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams and foster key business relationships.
  • Excellent judgment and strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Strong project management skills and financial acumen.
  • Available to travel anywhere in BC and hold a valid class 5 driver’s license.
  • The successful candidate will be required to submit proof of COVID-19 Vaccination.

Depending on the location of the successful candidate within BC, this position will have the flexibility to work remotely full time or have access to shared team office space in our Kamloops office.

Salary range: $80,000-$90,000
