POSITION PROFILE:
The Program Officer will assist the WASH Project Manager in the implementation of Amal’s Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) projects. This role will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth delivery of WASH activities, from project design to completion.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist the Line Manager in planning, designing, and implementing WASH projects in line with Amal’s strategy and objectives.
- Support the Line Manager in managing all activities related to WASH projects.
- Implement the project schedule by efficiently managing the processes to complete the project within a specified time frame and ensuring that they are delivered to the highest standards.
- Prepare PRs and coordinate the procurement process with the Operations Department.
- Participate in and attend all meetings related to the project.
- Prepare project reports and presentations as required, under the guidance of the Line Manager.
- Prepare monthly WASH 4Ws reports and share them with the WASH cluster.
- Complete tasks delegated by the manager.
- Operate within the defined and planned objectives of the department.
- Provide technical support to project field staff, particularly for the hygiene promotion team, by following up with them on a daily basis.
- Design WASH tools, implementation trackers, and other MoVs documents.
- Follow-up of the implementation trackers for each activity.
QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business Administration, environmental science, or a related field.
- Work experience of not less than one year.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and planning skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Familiarity with WASH sector regulations and guidelines.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Extensive knowledge of the political and humanitarian situation in the region.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to write reports and correspondence.
- Ability to identify problems, collect data, and draw correct conclusions.
- Excellent Microsoft Office skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Turkish Nationality is preferred
- Strong command of English and Arabic spoken and written.( Turkish language is preferred)
