Offer Description
To forecast the effect of flow alteration due to anthropogenic activities on riverine biological communities is crucial for the optimal management of water resources. Recently, our research group developed a module based on the macroinvertebrate community for the mesoHABSIM methodology. The aim of the research project is to validate the mesoHABSIM module based on the macroinvertebrate community in multiple rivers representing the main fluvial morphologies of the Po river district. The candidate will be directly involved in: collection of macroinvertebrates, morphological identification of organisms, data analysis, validation of the Flow-T and macroinvertebrate habitat integrity indices, drafting of technical reports.
