United Kingdom based role (hybrid working, 1-2 days in the London Canary Wharf office ideally), however open to suitable applicants in other locations where WaterAid is registered.

About the Team:
The role sits within the Corporate Partnership team, within the Strategic Partnerships department, and works closely with Global Policy & Advocacy department and with colleagues across the world to collectively deliver on our ambitions.

The WaterAid Corporate Partnerships team is responsible for developing and implementing WaterAid’s Corporate Partnerships Strategies, this includes leveraging and scaling existing partnerships and creating new opportunities. In developing new and existing partnerships the Corporate Partnerships team works closely with colleagues on policy & influencing, advocacy and technical service delivery.

We are currently recruiting a number of Private Sector focused roles across the Strategic Partnerships and Policy and Advocacy departments, reflecting WaterAid’s increased focus on engaging with the private sector in our new global strategy. It is an exciting time to join WaterAid. In this role you will build on our strong private sector engagement foundations and develop a new, strategic team.

About the Role:

WaterAid’s new global strategy raises the importance of private sector’s role in achieving our mission. In this role you will play a leadership role in building transformative partnerships that increase private sector action on WASH. As our specialist Senior Private Sector Advisor, you will drive WaterAid engagement with business, the sustainability agenda on WASH, and be an expert voice in engaging business to take action on WASH.
In this role, you will play a leadership role in delivering WaterAid’s private sector engagement strategy and vision, building WaterAid’s reputation as the private sector WASH partner of choice.

You’ll also:
* Drive a global approach and strategy development for private sector engagement at WaterAid, in collaboration with the Global Policy & Advocacy department.
* Support companies to integrate WASH into their water management strategies and sustainability agenda.
* Be a key external representative of WaterAid and a strong communicator, able to build networks and alliances and be a credible voice for WaterAid with the private sector.

About You:
To be successful, you’ll need:
* Significant experience working in or directly with business, large multinationals or business associations in WaterAid priority sectors
* Familiarity with corporate water risk and opportunity management, water stewardship and water security issues
* A thorough understanding of the broad political landscape within which business needs operates i.e. business barriers, drivers and motives.
* Project management and stakeholder engagement skills
