Qualification: – Graduate in Environment / BSW/MSW/Management / Civil Engineer / Rural Management or equivalent degree.
Minimum 2 years of experience in Swachh Bharat Abhiyan (Fresher can also apply)
Roles and Responsibilities
- Focus on the preparation of city sanitation plans for effective septage/faecal sludge management
- Provide technical/engineering inputs in sanitation including project design, type designs for sanitation infrastructure such as Public/ community/ individual toilets etc. for different sites as may be required
- Technical support in planning, designing and implementing pilot faecal sludge/septage and decentralized wastewater treatment infrastructure. It includes local reuse of faecal sludge and septage that make sustainable and affordable systems
- Developing and coordinating training programmes related to water, sanitation and faecal sludge management
- Provide technical hand-holding support to the ULBs and implementing city sanitation plans
- Adopt related Service Level Benchmarks and indicators and to assess the performance of ULBs
- Provide support such as empanelment of agencies/ consultants for preparation of City Sanitation Plans, DPRs and development of standard documents for procurement, technical inputs to procurement documents and process protocols for maintenance of sanitation assets etc.
- Facilitate and guide ULBs in preparation of City Sanitation plans
- Identification and appraisal of low cost designs, innovative technologies and best practises related to waste water treatment and septage management and public conveniences
- Experience of applied research and on-site technical field support, advocacy and training
- Identification of research, technical assistance or policy analysis and advocacy priorities of various ministries pertaining to water and sanitation.
- Identification and listing of key stakeholders, experts, champions and organizations in the drinking water supply and sanitation sectors, including the various ministries and departments, donors, the private sector, NGOs, and research institutes/researchers
- Field assessment to identify if any open discharge
- Technical support in establishing linkages of sewerage network layout within residential and commercial areas (sewerage, septic tank + soak pit, twin pit system etc)
- Identification and appraisal of low cost designs, innovative technologies and best practises related to waste water treatment and septage management and public conveniences
- Mapping of Household Toilets/ CT’s/ PT’s
- Review the city sanitation plans and detailed project report for precision and detail and provide feedback as necessary
- Examine the need and possibilities of improving and securing (making safe) the work conditions of Safai Karamcharis and direct the appropriate rules and procedures to achieve the same
