Permanent, Full Time

The role can be based in London, Washington DC, New York, Brussels or Berlin, subject to right to work eligibility in the respective countries.

Salary & Benefits
Salaries and benefits for different countries will vary in line with the location of the successful candidate and depending on experience.

£73,000 – £80,000 for the UK
* Circa $150.000K for Washington DC and New York
* Salaries levels in Germany and Belgium to be advised upon application

About the Role:
As our Global International Affairs Director you will will play a major role in WaterAid’s focus on using global campaigns to deliver ambitious change at a national level. Working internationally with colleagues across WaterAid you will lead advocacy, targeting multilateral institutions (such as UN agencies, the World Bank and EU institutions) and donor governments such as UK and Germany.

In this role, you will articulate a vision for the organisation’s influencing approach in key donor countries and with multilateral institutions. You will lead the organisation and the team to implement this vision and help deliver an increase in the scale and impact of WaterAid’s global influence to accelerate progress towards SDG 6.

You’ll also:
* Lead and coordinate the delivery of effective advocacy strategies for multilateral institutions and donor governments
* Lead and coordinate our high level lobbying
* Work collaboratively across the WaterAid Federation to identify the specific contribution of key donor governments
* Lead and develop key advocacy messages aligned to priority campaigns and impact messaging for external audiences
* Lead and manage the building and steering of relationships with influential champions for WASH

About You:
To be successful, you’ll need:
* Proven track record of developing and delivering high impact influencing strategies
* Strong track record of achieving policy and advocacy objectives
* Robust knowledge of international development, the key players and how to influence change in the policy landscape
