About the role

The Senior Project Officer will work as part of a small team collaborating closely with members of government, stakeholders and industry to implement a long-term management solution. In particular, this role will contribute to an important mining rehabilitation project safeguarding central Bendigo’s environment and heritage from recovering groundwater.

The Senior Project Officer will develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with key stakeholders and manage procurement and contract management processes.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have experience with project planning and managing complex projects with design, construction or operation of water treatment systems preferred. You will also be a great communicator, with strong stakeholder management skills.

Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications

  • An appropriate qualification in engineering, environmental planning, environmental law, natural resource management or approved equivalent would be desirable.
  • A working understanding of groundwater systems, sound knowledge of water management issues and managing complex projects would be desired.
  • A working understanding of construction and operation of water treatment systems is preferred.
  • Strong experience in project planning.

This is a fixed term position available until 30 June 2025. The work location for this position is flexible within Victoria (Epsom preferred) with hybrid work arrangements available.
