Position Highlights

The School of Natural Resources and the Environment is looking for a candidate who will provide support for a field research program spanning various aspects of rangeland ecohydrologic research and applying rainfall simulation, overland flow, infiltrometer, and various soil and vegetation sampling methodologies. Under direction of a Research Hydrologist, the candidate will be responsible for a suite of research activities including field work with Meyer and Harmon type and oscillating arm rainfall simulators, mini-disk infiltrometers, Saturo dual head infliltrometers; lab processing of field collected water and sediment samples; and data management and analysis. Field work will include, but is not limited to, rainfall simulation and infiltration experiments and vegetation and soil measurements in remote mountainous locations under potentially extreme climate conditions as typical of the Desert Southwest. The candidate will be responsible for supervising field campaigns and maintaining field equipment. Data management/analysis will include data entry and database development, basic statistical analysis/summary, and data reduction and summarization depending on level of experience. Technical writing may include basic scientific report writing and contribution to manuscripts for publication in peer-review journals depending of level of experience.
