The Central Coast Water Board is hiring a Senior Engineering Geologist to lead our Irrigated Lands Program team. The position location is 895 Aerovista Place, Suite 101, San Luis Obispo, CA 93401.
Agricultural discharges have caused severe and widespread impacts to surface water and groundwater quality. We are looking for a candidate with strong leadership, communication, and technical skills to manage a team of dedicated staff that are passionate about protecting and restoring water quality for our Central Coast communities.
In this position, the Senior Engineering Geologist will work with their staff to develop strategies that address impacts to drinking water and assist communities with contaminated wells, evaluate groundwater monitoring program designs, interpret fate and transport of agricultural chemicals in Central Coast groundwater, develop basin-wide hydrogeological conceptual models, and coordinate with various parties to achieve the best solutions possible.
