The Streamside Buffer Projects Coordinator develops, manages and advances streamside buffer projects in ClearWater’s land and water resources programs in collaboration with ClearWater’s Riparian Program Manager and the entire ClearWater Conservation team. This position will implement streamside buffers in central Pennsylvania, along with cultivating and maintaining working relationships with staff, private landowners, volunteers, and other conservation partners.

Program priorities and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

● In collaboration with the ClearWater conservation team, help implement strategy for stream

restoration aimed at improving water quality in key watersheds in our service area.

● Successfully implement and complete the scope of work for existing riparian stream buffers projects,

resulting in the reduction of sediment and nutrient pollution in the Centre region – Spring, Spruce,

Little Juniata and other watersheds.

● Manage implementation of projects within budget and in line with contract and grant agreements.

● Prioritize and advance conservation planning on farms and other properties to restore stream

buffers and enhance habitat to improve ecological health of land and water resources.

● Seek out and develop relationships with landowners and plan riparian projects with landowners,

partners and ClearWater staff.

● Develop contracts, proposals, requests for proposals, bid packages, budgets, grant funding

applications and reports which support land and water conservation projects.

● Manage and track existing conservation projects, including creating and maintaining grant records

for each project.

● Contribute to and participate in outreach activities as needed.

● Assist with overall efforts to promote and sustain the organization including occasional work in

support of membership outreach and fundraising.

● Work closely with staff, volunteers and board in support of conservation projects and to foster a

welcoming and respected community institution.

● Keep current on aspects of CWC’s programs and strategic priorities.

Working Conditions/Physical Conditions

The coordinator will be required to perform a wide array of physically demanding tasks, such as hiking on uneven ground for long periods of time, working outside in inclement weather and carrying tools to project sites. The position involves occasional evening meetings and occasional weekend commitments. Time will be divided between field and office. Must be able to lift and carry 30 lbs. Must be willing to use personal vehicle for travel and transporting field gear (mileage reimbursed).
