CRWA’s watershed science internship offers on-the-job training in a variety of watershed management tasks in support of our River Science program. Areas of focus may differ depending on intern skills and interest, but may include water sampling, volunteer engagement, invasive plant management, data management and analysis, science communications, and environmental advocacy.
Potential Skills Gained:
- Learn about water quality and environmental issues
- Professional experience working with a non-profit organization
- Volunteer engagement and communications
- Working with various types of water quality data
- Watershed mapping and spatial data display
- Sharing science with the public
Desired Qualifications:
- Willingness to learn and ability to work independently
- An interest in environmental and water quality issues
- Preliminary coursework in biology, chemistry, environmental science, or a related field
- Geographic Information Systems (GIS) software
- Experience with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
- Access to a car and a valid driver’s license (not required)
This internship is available to students earning academic credit or a stipend from an educational program to participate.
