The Department of Planning and Environment is currently seeking to appoint a Senior Project Officer Environmental Water to join our Environment & Heritage Group division in the Northwest region.

The Senior Project Officer would work with our regionally-based operational team  to manage and coordinate our Environmental Water Advisory Groups in northern NSW Murray-Darling catchments.  This would include working directly with committee executive and regular members to establish and maintain productive relationships and effective participation.

About You

To be successful in this role, you must:

  • Support independent chairs of Environmental Water Advisory Groups by building stakeholder relationships, providing opportunities for peer support, facilitating skill development and ensuring access to necessary resources
  • Establish and maintain relationships with group members through effective communication, negotiation, influence and issues management, to ensure project deliverables are met
  • Take an interest in developing committee members knowledge and capability, to underpin committee member performance
  • Comply with committee procedures and governance and administrative requirements
  • Have tertiary qualifications and/or experience in a similar role
  • Have a current driver’s licence and be willing to travel regionally for work, including overnight where necessary. Travel may include opportunities for site visits to wetlands.
