Golden Sands Resource Conservation & Development Council, Inc. (RC&D) is an equal opportunity employer seeking NINE part-time/full-time limited-term watercraft inspectors for the summer of 2023. These positions are excellent resume-builders for future careers in natural resources or environmental law enforcement and can be flexible to fit the Treehaven summer school sessions.

Employment location, hours and rate:
Location #1: Lake Helen, Portage Co, apx 16 hrs/wk for 16 wks, $15/hr (paid out throughout the season at $11/hr with a completion bonus of $4 per Landing Hour worked)
*Location #2: Silver Lake, Waushara Co, apx 16 hrs/wk for 16 wks, $14/hr (paid out throughout the season at $10/hr with a completion bonus of $4 per hour worked (potentially a $908 bonus). Additional $500 completion bonus, sponsored by Silver Lake Management District. *May combine w/ Location #3 for 32 hr/wk
*Location #3: Pearl Lake, Waushara Co, apx 16 hrs/wk for 16 wks, $14/hr (paid out throughout the season at $10/hr with a completion bonus of $4 per hour worked (potentially a $908 bonus). *May combine w/ Location #2 for 32 hrs/wk
Location #4: Waupaca Chain O’ Lakes, Waupaca Co, apx 16 hrs/wk for 16 wks, $17/hr, with a $200 completion bonus.
**Location #5: Green Lake, Green Lake Co. 5 positions at 16-40 hrs/wk ea, for 16 wks, $17/hr (paid out throughout the season at $15/hr with a completion bonus of $2 per hour worked.) These positions include rotational shifts attending the new boat wash station. **See more about the Green Lake positions.

Travel: Reliable transportation is required for these positions. Transportation to training and orientation locations, and daily transportation to and from the boat landing is not reimbursed.

Special Note: Hired staff will be required to work most weekends throughout the season, including part of holiday weekends (Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day).

Responsibilities: The primary duty of these positions will be inspecting watercraft entering or leaving the lake and offering educational materials to boaters.

Comfortable working outdoors

Preferred Qualities:
Knowledge and understanding of aquatic invasive species
Strong verbal communication skills
Experience with public communication and/or public service

Training: Inspectors are required to attend a Clean Boats Clean Waters (CBCW) training in Stevens Point on proper watercraft inspection procedures following the DNR’s CBCW program protocols.

Start Date: These positions can be flexible to fit the Treehaven sessions. Otherwise employment will run from approximately May 22nd through Labor Day.
